Since moving to Cuffern Manor in August 2004, we have been researching the history of the house.

It would appear that the present house was built around 1770 by John Rees Stokes.

This has led to two different areas of investigation:

• stokes history (as determined January 2005)
• stokes history (as determined April 2005)
